For old turntables, vibration spelled total disaster to the sound. Today that hideous monster, in forms far less obvious, lurks around just below the threshold of audibility and mucks up the sound. Removal of these unaddressed sources of vibration will lower your system's noise floor even further, helping to make the most subtle of nuances in the music clearly audible. Then -- just before the speaker or component -- attach a small audio pillow to your interconnect or speaker cable for a very pleasing increase of air, warmth, and overall smoothness in the sound.
